Two programs of the Academy 2013, a thirteen-day Program I, and a fifteen-day Program II, are carefully designed for musicians of all ages, including young professionals, college, pre-college, and younger students. Course of study encompass private lessons, instrumental and vocal master classes, chamber music coaching, ensemble and orchestral sessions, all of which will be conducted at the Istituto Superiore di Studi Musicali "Claudio Monteverdi" di Cremona and at the Cremona Chamber of Commerce. Public concerts are the highlights of the Academy. Student solo, chamber music and orchestral performances, and the concerts featuring distinguished faculty of the Academy will take place in various historic venues in and outside Cremona area, including Cortile Federico II of Cremona Town Hall, Piazzas Duomo and Marconi, and special performances in a beautiful Lombardian town of Crema. Performances at Cremona violin makers’ workshops are another unique feature of the Academy. The Third International Competition for Strings and the Third International Competition for Pianists are scheduled for July 23- July 25, 2013. We are very pleased to announce many wonderful additions to this year program - “The Art of Bel Canto” vocal program, “Conducting Lab” for instrumentalists and vocalists, and the "Audition Preparation Class for Strings" will be offered in both, Programs I and II. Composition Course and Theory of Music Seminar will be offered in Program I, and a special “Wind, Jazz and Improvisation Course” in Program II. City-tours of Cremona will be offered to participants of both Programs. Sightseeing tour to Mantua, the "Gem of Italian Renaissance", and the Lake Garda is planned for Program I participants, and tour to Parma and Busseta, Giuseppe Verdi’s Birthplace, for participants of Program II. The Academy is extremely happy to welcome the JVL Summer School for Performing Arts (SSPA) from Canada, its brilliant faculty and students! They will join us for the Program I.
